It’s not me…It’s you

I recently posted an Instagram picture with this caption and the responses to it were amazing. That’s why I want to take a minute and explain more about what this caption means. I am excited to share all that I’ve learned from the relationships that I have been in. From the bad break-ups, to the long-distance, to an emotionally abusive relationship, to knowing your worth, I can’t wait to share it all.

“It’s not me…It’s you” is a caption I decided to go with for my photo because I think its important to remember this saying. So many times when we get broken up with or another term would be dumped lol, we focus so much on what we did wrong. We beat ourselves up about what we did to make him break up with us. However, you need to remember its not always you, its them.

Now, I am not saying to not take a minute and self-reflect about what you can fix to better yourself and your next relationship. I think it is good to reflect on every relationship you have. What I am saying is to remember that they are leaving you, they are choosing to walk away from this relationship instead of fixing it. Everyone has flaw, and if they say they don’t, well their lying big time lol. When you decide to become in a relationship with someone you are choosing them for good and bad. So, when someone decides they are gonna walk away and break up with you…that is on them…its them not you.

Never forget that you have so much to offer! Whenever I am going through a break up that is what I think about to help myself get through it. Break ups are such a hard thing because you put so much into a relationship and then one day its all over. Break-ups aren’t easy but I think they do help us become who we are. Ive learned so much from my failed relationships and I will be sharing more of those as time goes on! Just remember when someone leaves you, thats on them and not you!!
